Koji Uehara, a Japanese pitcher of the Red Sox |
Tonight, the Boston Red Sox might win the World-Series Champion
series.
Boston has united so strongly this year, since the horrible attack
at the Boston Marathon on April 15.
Professional sports entertainment has power to give inspiration
to us.
In fact, Koji Uehara, a Japanese pitcher of the Red Sox,
gives me so much inspiration as a Japanese in Boston myself.
Smokeless tobacco
(chewing tobacco and snuff tobacco) in the MLB is unbelievable to me. Seeing a baseball player spit during the game
is not a nice image for kids to look up to.
Smokeless tobacco is a
big part of MLB’s culture, but it is about time for it to vanished completely.
The MLB team provides sunflower seeds and a chewing gum, instead of smokeless tobacco, but not everybody uses those as alternatives.
It is already banned
in the minor league, but they can easily ignore the ban because the minor
league doesn't have a union. For elimination of a
chewing tobacco to happen, involvement of the MLB union is necessary.
MLB players aren’t
there to raise our children, but they should behave in front of them at least.
It is no doubt that
smokeless tobacco is harmful enough to cause mouth cancer. Therefor I hope to
see MLB players to find effective alternatives in the future.
