Should girls use smoking to lose weight?



Recently, I saw some reports and news saying that more and more girls start to smoke only for the purpose of weight loss. It seems that smoking could suppresses appetite naturally and efficiently. Therefore, it has been concluded by some people that smoking could be very useful when someone is on a diet.


However, smoking is addictive. When you get started, it is very hard to stop. Girls all wants to be beautiful and skinny, and this is the reason why they want to lose weight using extremes tactics. However, there is no telling what kind of outcomes cigarettes will bring to you. Smoking can make white teeth turn yellow or even a dark brown. Smoking could also lead to aging and wrinkles in the face. In conclusion, the loss definitely outweighs the gain.

One of my friends started smoking to lose weight, and she told me she is very regretful now. She tried a variety of dental cleaning products, but none of them could make her teeth as white as before. Her teeth would become somewhat whiter after she used these products, but the color would always go back to yellow in a short period of time. However, the skin problem worried her more than the teeth. She spent a lot of money to maintain and keep her skin condition.  The fast weight loss that smoking brought her was exciting, but it cost her far more with the money she paid for the cigarettes.  I feel very sorry for her and I hope she can quit smoking soon.


Generally speaking, smoking could help to lose weight. I personally think that using cigarettes to lose weight is pointless because it consumes the youth and pure beauty of someone. In the long run, this is not a feasible method to losing weight. I believe that health is much more important than the shape of our body. Pretty could be expressed in many ways, but smoking is not one. Sometimes a girl with a bright smile is just beautiful enough.
